This week, members of Bexleyheath & Crayford CLP attended two fantastic fundraising events hosted by our neighbouring constituencies, helping to strengthen our local Labour movement and support the work of our MPs and activists.
Old Bexley & Sidcup CLP Fundraiser with Jonathan Ashworth
We were delighted to join Old Bexley & Sidcup CLP for their fundraiser, featuring Jonathan Ashworth, Labour Together CEO and former Shadow Paymaster General, as the guest speaker. Jonathan shared valuable insights into Labour’s plans to rebuild our economy, strengthen public services, and support working people. It was an inspiring evening, bringing together Labour members from across the borough to discuss the challenges ahead and the opportunities for change.
Erith & Thamesmead CLP Fundraiser with Abena Oppong-Asare & Lord Kennedy
Later in the week, we were proud to support Erith & Thamesmead CLP at their fundraising event, hosted by their MP Abena Oppong-Asare. The evening featured a keynote speech from Roy Kennedy, Baron Kennedy of Southwark, who spoke passionately about Labour’s mission to deliver a fairer society. The event was a great opportunity to connect with fellow Labour members, strengthen our networks, and raise crucial funds for upcoming campaigns.
Building a Stronger Labour Presence Locally
These fundraisers are vital in ensuring our local CLPs have the resources they need to campaign effectively and engage with voters. They also serve as a reminder of the strength of our movement when we come together with a shared purpose.
A big thank you to our neighbouring CLPs for hosting such brilliant events—and to all our members who attended and contributed. If you’d like to get involved in future events, stay tuned for updates!
